Review & Giveaway: Soft Scrub 4-1 Toilet Care

Being the person who pretty much cleans every single toilet in our new house I try to look for way to minimize that interaction cause its so not the most fun place in the house to clean (but really what cleaning is fun?). I also went from one toilet to clean before we moved from our apartment to our house, to having to clean four toilets! So when I received Soft Scrub 4-1 Toilet Care in the Alpine scent I figured I would give it a try. I put it in our most frequently used bathroom out of the entire house, that way I could really see how well it held up.  The four points of this toilet bowl rim clip are that it cleans, prevents the build up, fights any toilet ring, and freshens, so I will focus on those points in  my review as well.

I was glad to see how this toilet care cliped into the bowl, see our toilet is one of those low flow barely any pressure to the water, bowls, so I was concerned how well this would work with my toilets. I had to put the clip towards the front of the bow where the most water flow is, I clipped it there right under where the stream would be so each flush cleans the bowl. My first impression of the smell even before putting it in the bowl was, ” Woah this is a bit over powering, but not too bad”, so I felt that it would definitely freshen up the bathroom as well. My toilet care is officially out and now I am heavily considering picking up not one, but one for each of my bathrooms. I saw that the toilet cleaner retails at Walmart for about $2 which is nice, it’s not too expensive and lasts about a month!! So after all this use I can say that I never had a toilet ring, I never saw any build up, I swear my toilet was the cleanest, most shiny and most fresh smelling toilet on the planet!! I never saw anything, my toilet was so shiny and clean that I didn’t need to pull out the scrub brush!! I definitely recommend the Soft Scrub Toilet Care bowl cleaner because its just fantastic! I haven’t tried the other scent called Sapphire Waters, but I just might try that scent too! I loved Soft Scrub Toilet Care!

Review & Giveaway: Soft Scrub Advanced Surface Gel

So today I got disgusted by my stove top cook top, it’s an old, and by old I mean old, Frigidaire, it’s a white cook top as well (why I will never understand). Anyways while cooking and making life’s messes it tends to get a bit dirty…ok a lot dirty. I *try* to clean it once a week, but I typically do it when it looks terrible. Anyways I got sick of looking at it and decided to try the new Soft Scrub Advanced Surface Cleaner & Polish, the bottle says it can work on granite, stainless steel, glass cooktops and marble so I decided to give it a shot. Normally I use the Weimans Glass Cooktop Cleaner and the Weimans cooktop scrubber, so that will be my comparison.

The first thing I noted about Soft Scrub Advanced Surface Cleaner & Polish was that the liquid comes out clear as opposed to the Weimans which comes out a bit thicker and white. I like it being clear, however I also don’t because it makes it more difficult for me to see it and sometimes I put too much on. The second initial thing I noticed was the smell, it doesn’t smell like cleaner, instead it really smelled like flowers to me, so that was definitely a positive.

The test came when I let it sit for a moment, the directions on the bottle explain that if you have a hard to clean surface to let it sit for a minute, I probably did half of that time. So I did notice that it definitely did not take as much elbow grease as the Weimans did, now that could be due to the amount of residue but I barely had to let it sit and I barely had to scrub using my scrubber. There were a few spots that needed some elbow grease but this time around it really wasn’t that difficult to clean and I’m all about making my life easier by having something that allows me to clean quicker and of course with minimal effort! So far I am pleased with how my cooktop turned out. I haven’t tried it on the other surfaces because sadly I do not how those surfaces to try them on. But from what I have seen it totally would destroy any dirt, grime and left over residue. I definitely would recommend this product and guess what? You can WIN a FREE product coupon for you to try it yourself!!!

Purex Insider: 20 Mule Team Borax Review and Giveaway!!!

I recently was able to try the laundry additive 20 Mule Team Borax. The box tells me that it helps boost your original laundry detergent while also helping with any hard water you may have. Borax 20 Mule can also be used for cleaning purposes as well, which is really exciting because I absolutely love a product that has more than one use for it!

So I decided to try 20 Mule Team to the load of laundry I was doing which happened to be sheets for our bed. I figured I could feel any difference from the sheets since I love soft sheets and what not. So the box explains to only use a half of a cup and toss it into your washer. What really intrigued me about 20 Mule Team was the fact that it talks about helping with hard water. Hard water is definitely a problem where I live here in Phoenix. My house does not have a water softener so we have hard water. I noticed that my sheets would still come out feeling a bit more stiff than they should have. I attributed that to the fact that we do have hard water and I really got bummed about not having a softener. So I tried Borax 20 Mule and was impressed.

Once everything was dry and on my bed I was able to tell that, at least to me, the sheets felt a bit softer, not as stiff as they typically feel because of our hard water, and anyone living in Arizona knows that we have hard water! So I felt like the 20 Mule Team

did what it was supposed to do, it helped make my sheets not feel as hard and scratchy as they can when I only use detergent. I just felt like they’ve done a great job, so much so that I am still using my sample box, and I think I might go out and buy some more once its all gone!! It was really good! As far as I could tell there was no smell to the Borax, it is in powder form and can irritate the skin slightly if touched directly, but I think it all depends on your allergies and such! No one in  my family has had an adverse reaction to this at all either so for us it works!

I definitely would recommend this to friends and family who are looking for a boost for their laundry!!

Other aspects of 20 Mule Team Borax that I like are that it can be used outside of laundry as well. I haven’t tried it yet because I’m using it up in my laundry but I can’t wait to try this out myself either.

Now for the Giveaway!!

I have 3 Coupons to give away to 3 people!! That means there will be 3 winners who will receive ONE coupon each for FREE 20 Mule Team Borax!! Please go to my facebook page and follow the rafflecopter tab!

Review & Giveaway: Dry Idea AdvancedDry

I recently received a  full size bottle of Dry Idea’s new AdvancedDry Deodorant [for women] in the roll on form to try and review for you so here I am!

Since I live in a super super super super HOT state (Arizona!!) I was all but more than happy to try Dry Idea. I have never actually tried their deodorant before, so this was exciting for me! I typically would not have chosen the roll on form (or the gel form either) of deodorants, that’s a major issue for me, but I’ll try to give you my opinion of the deodorant’s abilities. Anyway, I tried the roll on the other day, first off when I roll it on I feel like my under arms are super wet, and kind of icky. It made me feel like I was sweating…for a little while, then it dried up and no longer bothered me. Which was surprising since I’m not sure if I half expected it to bother me the entire time I wore it or what, but I was surprised nonetheless.

I wore it throughout the day, never reapplying, my son and I were out running errands and I noticed that the deodorant scent, which was Powder Fresh, seemed to do its job. I also didn’t feel sweaty under my arms either and if you ever been to Arizona you know that during the summer you sweat in places you wouldn’t normally sweat in, but the under arms were dry. So since I wore it, I’d have to say if you tend to sweat a lot and get kind of stinky, then you should try this deodorant! I would recommend it to others to try to see if it holds up to their standards.

Review: Culver’s

On Friday Lucas and I went to Culver’s here in Phoenix. It’s a rather new phenomenon here because about 2 years ago there was only 1 Culver’s near our house. I always wanted to try them but never really went. Fast Forward 2 years later and voila there are many more Culver’s in the area now, and everyone seems to like them. When I first tried them I went with my Grandma for lunch. I was shocked by how great the chicken finger basket was, how when I bit into it, it tasted like an onion ring but with chicken. Their ranch is awesome too. From that point on I loved Culver’s so on an occasional basis I will take Lucas with me to go have a Mommy and Son day out.

On Friday, this not being out first time to Culver’s, I was really excited to go eat there for lunch. It appeared quite busy, we went to the one located next to PV Mall here in Phoenix, we ordered right away and one of the table hoppers (I’m not sure if they have a special name for them so I made it up), Ciara, helped me to the table since I was carrying Lucas and all of extra stuff that comes with you when you have a child. She offered to get my drink, some napkins and whatever else I needed. I was blown away by the service! We sat in a nice small booth, with Lucas in a high chair. We had out number and we waiting for out food. Ciara, brought my drink some straws and napkins to the table for us and we waited for out food. Not too long after we sat down did our food appear and they asked if we needed anything else. While we were eating we had several staff members come and greet us and talk to Lucas commenting on how cute he was to how well he was eating. For some people this can be annoying, but for me I thought it was fantastic because it showed they are interested in their customers and I do believe they have some regulars now. One of the “table hoppers” an older gentleman (found out today, yep we went again but this time with Todd, that this gentleman is from Chicago, but I failed to look at his name tag to get his name) is hysterical he is so funny, and witty, and he is definitely super friendly. The food was fantastic again Lucas and I both got the chicken finger/tender basket with a ton of ranch. It’s a bit pricey though, for just the 2 of us our bill was about $13 and some change, definitely not somewhere we’d go too often, even if we did go 2x this week. With the kids meal you have the option of fries or apple sauce, and on the kids meal bags is a “scoopie point/token” and a “scoopie ice cream” which allows you get get your choice flavor of their ice cream I believe either in a cone or cup with your choice of toppings as part of the kids meal. Lucas loved it, he doesn’t typically get “crap” food or sweets or much anything like that, but occasionally I’ll give in. The first time we went he wasn’t interested in the ice cream, this time we loved it and kept asking for more scoops. We didn’t finish it all though before we both were full. Today we got the ice cream and Lucas wasn’t too into it this time so it just depends on his mood.

I would definitely recommend this Culver’s to anyone who needs a bite to eat, and it is definitely kid friendly. The place is cozy, but also can be loud, which is great if your child wants to fuss or scream before their food arrives (we all know when they are hungry it’s really hard for them to show patience) the staff is friendly and very helpful! When we came in today with Todd this time we came back to the same location, and Ciara was at the cash register and she said “Hi again how are you all” Todd was like “Again?” because she remembered if not me at least she remembered Lucas because she thought he was cute. It was great being remembered and told hi etc. They really make you feel welcome. On Friday I really wanted to give Ciara a tip, but wasn’t sure if she was allowed to accept it or not. So Ciara if you happen to read this please comment and I’ll surely come back and give you a tip.

Definitely an awesome place to go for eats!

Review: Johnny Rockets Restaurant

Last week Todd, Lucas and I went to Johnny Rockets as part of my birthday dinner. I really wanted to go there and I was very satisfied with my lunch/dinner. When you first walk into Johnny Rockets it has old school music I believe from the 60′s on up it’s set up as a diner from back in the day. Think Happy Days, or similar to 5 in Diner but better. It’s a very pleasant family oriented atmosphere, and each booth has it’s own jute box that allows you to select your choice of music and it will play for everyone in the restaurant to hear. It’s really a fantastic place. When we arrived it was a seat yourself day so we chose a booth in the middle. Lucas wasn’t happy about having to sit in his high chair, but what is great about this restaurant is that it is completely family oriented so you don’t need to worry about disturbing others while your child scream his or her displeasure. Eventually he calmed down when we got him a balloon that was hoovering above him! Great entertainment there. It took us a little bit to get menus, I’m not sure exactly why, but they were decently busy. Scanning the menu they have tradition types of American food, hamburgers, sandwiches, salads, and shakes. We got Lucas their children’s chicken strips, they were very warm and really yummy. I chose, and I do NOT typically get hamburgers but this time I did, I got the Houston which is a hamburger with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, their special sauce, lettuce and tomato as well as a few ingredients I’m probably forgetting with a side of fries. One thing I was disappointed about was the lack of a pickle on the side, it’s something I love with burgers, or sandwiches, but I didn’t ask for it my burger cost $7.99 and it definitely filled me up well. Todd got a chicken Philly Cheese Steak with a side of sweet potato fries, I believe his was around $10, when he received it he was quite disappointed due to the size and the price. It was a tiny cheese steak nothing worth the price of around $10 he was disappointed with the size, but said that it did taste very good, but that it wasn’t filling and especially not for the price. One thing about Johnny Rockets is that they have “Endless Fries” so what we did for Todd was get another thing of my fries (they don’t do it for sweet potato fries) so he could fill up. All  in all me and Lucas were satisfied with out meals, and service, Todd on the other hand, was not happy about the meal, but felt the service was great. Everyone was friendly, and nice, a few times Lucas dropped something as a waiter, waitress or buss boy went by and they each would help us pick it up.

Over all I think the price of my burger was a decent price for a sit down restaurant and I would definitely recommend it for others to try. I love the atmosphere and I think it’s a great place to take the kids. Todd and I agree for the size of his cheese steak it definitely should have been cheaper, but he would still recommend it because the ambiance, and staff was great. I even went back in when our balloon blew away, and they not only gave me 1 but 2! They are still inflated, but don’t float, but Lucas is STILL playing with them. I think our total bill came to around $30-$35 a bit expensive for 2 adults and a child, since we’ve gone to other places and spent in the $20 range. But overall I think it’s a great place!!
